NOTICE: ASSEMBLY MEETING OF FELLOWSHIP OF HUNTSVILLE CHURCH
(Review final Assembly and Committee Reports)
For the best interests of the local church body of FOHC, a congregational assembly shall be convened. The issues to be submitted to the assembly shall include those listed below. The elders are hereby notified that they shall call such assembly and that they shall give public notice of at least one week and not more than thirty (30) days. If the elders do not act within thirty (30) days from the receipt of this notice, an assembly shall be convened by the worshipers. Sunday, April 21, 2024, following the second service, has been proposed.
Issues to be submitted to the assembly:
- Worship Music
- Shall FOHC have services that differ in their music?
- Facilities
- For what purposes should the facilities of the FOHC body be used?
- Statement of faith (SOF)
- Should FOHC have a statement of faith?
- If a SOF is desired, who shall decide its content and what shall be its application?
- Governance
- What shall be the structure of governance at FOHC?
- What shall be the church’s instructions to those appointed to serve the body in governance?
- Small groups and Sunday school
- How shall small group facilitators and Sunday school teachers be commissioned?
- How shall these servants be evaluated?
- Matthew 18:17, “…tell it to the assembly.”
- What offenses have been addressed with Matthew 18:15 and Matthew 18:16 and are now to be addressed by the assembly under Matthew 18:17 “…tell it to the assembly.”?
- Any other issue deemed necessary by the convened assembly
- The body of an independent church is responsible for, and authorized to be, the final arbiter of the Godly, orderly functioning of its affairs, worshipers, and servants. In fulfillment of this duty and privilege the assembly may address any issue it deems necessary.
